My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that failure is not the negative thing we are constantly led to believe and that I can show students that failure is a part of learning and something to be celebrated. Students come to class with knowledge meant to be nurtured; my duty as an educator is to do that. It is essential to be an authentic role model for students; within my teaching, I will show the importance of lifelong learning and the transformative nature of knowledge. Within my philosophy, I weave my love for the arts with my passion for STEM, teaching through creativity, and exploration. During my time in field, it is evident that teachers who conveyed their love for their discipline while respecting the skills of their students had more engagement in their classrooms, and those who encouraged a growth mindset in their students created a more respectful and productive environment; I desire to do precisely that.
